Stories to live by

Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever. ~ Mahatma Gandhi

Our world is full of human stories. Some sorrowful, some joyful. Some from the eyes of the young, others from those not so young. But all full of inspiration that can spur us on in life. Throughout the world there are many who are down-trodden, but never give up. Here are touching stories all full of  human inspiration.

A BOX FULL OF KISSES
(Always treasure the love that surrounds us)

Once a man was infuriated with his 3-year old daughter for wasting a roll of gold wrapping paper when the child tried to decorate a box to put under the Christmas tree. Nevertheless, on Christmas morning, the little girl bought the gift to her father and said, "This is for you, Daddy." The man was embarrassed by his ealier reaction, but his anger flared again when he found out that box was empty. He yelled at her, "Don't you know that when you give someone a present, there is supposed to be something inside?"

The little girl looked up at him as tears swelled in her eyes, "Daddy, it's not empty at all. I blew kisses into the box. They're all for you." The father was crushed. He put his arms around the little girl, and begged for her forgivenesss. A short time later, an accident took the life of the child. The father kept the gold box by his bed for many years; wherenever he was discouraged he would take out an imaginary kiss and remember the love of his child who put it there. All of us have been given a gold container with unconditional love and kisses from our children, family members, friends and God. Always treasure the love that surrounds us.
